I am totally enamoured with Beer Bistro, Chef Nathan and Beer Sommelier Ray. Let’s start with Nathan and the food. There is so much passion in the food. It is made with beer, paired with beer and held high with local passion. Weekends are for whole hog roasts and the rest of the week there are mussels in beer, the worlds best pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw in he homemade beer bun, or have a perfectly cooked steak. The ice creams are so good and change all the time. Have the Stout ice cream and pour beer on top like me!
Now there is Ray and his giant smile and massive knowledge. He makes learning about beer a blast. Tell him or any of the crew what you like and they will find a bunch.

Visited with my fiancée and we both loved it! The fries are specially made and are served with housemate sauces, and the server, Ray, was just fantastic. He advised us on which beers to try and made suggestions based on others that we said we liked. It was a great opportunity to try locally and specially brewed beers that I can't get at home (and that says a lot, coming from the border of Belgium and Germany, both known for beer!)
We closed our meal with housemade ice cream... I was too full to eat it, but I tried a bite and immediately ate the rest because it was so good!
Next time we visit Toronto we will certainly be back! Maybe more than once to try more beers and housemade menu items!
We sat on the patio, which had some noise from the street, but compared to other places we visited in Toronto, it was relatively quiet.

I get overjoyed anytime I see cheese fondue on a menu - I can never say no! This beer based fondue did not disappoint, but I would love to have the option to add mini potatoes, Belgian frites, meats, olives or other dip-ables instead of only bread with the fondue. The sourdough was very good, however. As it was a hot summer evening, we opted to sit on the outdoor patio instead of inside, where the lighting was very dim and the music was a bit too loud to talk comfortably. Our super friendly waitress recommended a sour cherry Belgian beer (Lindeman's Lambic Kriek) which I will definitely be seeking out at my local liquor store. Overall we had a great experience - it wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last!

I have always loved this place and made a special trip to from out of town to go there this past weekend.
As always, the food is perfection, priced very reasonably as well.
The beer menu does change, which is great. I suspect that the LCBO has placed some pretty tight restrictions on cross border breweries being served in restaurants as this place used to be a beer geeks paradise. I was introduced to some of the best beers I've ever tasted and they were American crafts, which I don't see on the menu anymore at all.
I know I can also no longer buy them in the LCBO as they have placed restrictions so im guessing their menu selection is dependent on the LCBO's Draconian dictatorship.
I will be back anyways though

I loved this place! I wish I could give it more than five stars! From the beginning we were met by professional yet friendly and relatable server staff. They would continuously meet our needs, sometimes before we even were thinking about it. The decor was designed by a genius with an artistic flair for colour and design that truly impressed me. They had colour coordinated pillows (pillows!) on the benches for client comfort! The food was simply amazing! A blend of flavours that were wonderful, but what was really over the top was the little home made items that they had. Mayo, ketchup, and even ice cream was all made on site! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! This was a perfect start to our vacation!

Update: we returned on the last night of our 30th year of marriage anniversary trip and were treated to even better service. We met Raymond, the head bar master. He treated us spectacularly. Once again, we we amazed at our experience. If in Toronto, Beerbistro is a MUST visit. Do not stay away. Thanks to Suzanne, Aleesa (spelling?), Jess and Raymond. True rock stars!
My wife, Sarah and I visited during a 5 day stay for our 30th anniversary. Food was great. Service was fantastic. Suzanne served us the two nights we were there. She's a rockstar and is going places in life. Trust me. Jess was also stellar. He's a beer god! Both of them remembered our previous visit, went out of their way to let us know that they remembered us, and chose to personalize our time together. Visit Beerbistro and ask for them by name. Then... take care of them.

The best banoffee pie ever! Everybody goes there because of the Belgium fries (with a really good reason because they are actually great) but I hardly suggest that you give it a try on the banoffee pie.
It is also a great place to watch sports, in the first time that I've been at Beer bistro, I had dinner and watched baseball.
In the 2nd time they didn't have any available sit on the floor, so we sat in small high chairs right in front of the kitchen. In the beginning I thought it would be bad. But right after I realized that it was an awesome place, so you can have the chance to see the great cookers and chefs preparing all the interesting dishes in front of you.
Great place, great staff, great food.

What a charming restaurant. Great ambiance when you enter. Wonderful upscale touches throughout. Great menu. Highly recommend the fondue for an appetizer. We also got the poutine...they have a little different twist on it . So so good! Our food was good. The steak was covered in a sauce which we were are not quite accustomed to and in our opinion the meat could have used a little more seasoning. The fish tacos were marvelous. The slaw on the fish taco is the best I have tasted. It added great flavor and texture to the taco. The fish in the taco was well seasoned and succulent. They have the best coffee and some really nice desserts. We enjoyed this establishment.

Fantastic experience. Excellent food and spectacular service. We chose the restaurant based on convenience, location, and ambiance and were pleasantly surprised. The steak was a perfect medium, the osso buso was on point and the sides were divine. Although this restaurant advertises as a beer bistro and has and extensive beer menu there is a very reasonable selection of other spirits and non alcoholic beverages making this a restaurant suitable for anyone and all ages. Finally, the decor is modern, comfortable, and original a lovely setting for a nice meal out or a perfect spot for a first date. I Highly recommend giving the Beer bistro a try.

This is the perfect spot for you if you love mussels & great drinks.
Their food was absolutely delicious. We ordered beer braised lamb shank & mussels & we also got fries for appetizers & it came with 2 special sauces.
The mussels are probably the best you can try in Toronto & the portion is gigantic.
The drink menu has so much variety of beers from all over the world.
The owners were kind enough to give us a complimentary desert as well.
Our server was a really kind lady who did everything greatly.
This restaurant will be one of our usual places for sure.
I want to thank all the amazing staff for the high quality food & the amazing atmosphere they created 🙏🏻😍

This review is Specific to holding events. Beer bistro has a FANTASTIC private room that you can reserve. It can hold up to 40 people if needed. The spot was great! I held a private poker game for someone's 40th birthday.
They absolutely loved the food and beer but that's not what this is about.
These 5 stars go to Lesli! She was the one who helped me coordinate everything. She was extremely personable, very communicative. She figured out the type of event I was doing and laid out the options. She kept in touch leading up to the event and made sure everything was handled on the restaurant end!
If you're looking to hold a big dinner or cocktail hour for a large group, look no further

Went there a couple times well staying in Toronto recently.
The service was great, from both the dining area and the bar.
Truffle fries were great, very fresh. The seafood chowder was good my girlfriend really enjoyed it. And the bacon flatbread was also very very good. The fish tacos were very good too.
The chicken BLT could've been constructed a little better, the tomato was too big and was sliding off the sandwich causing me to have to remake it multiple times, which was a messy endeavor.
The beers here are also phenomenal, a couple on tap I've never seen anywhere outside of Europe.
I would definitely go back.

We were staying at the Cosmopolitan hotel for a night and decided to go eat and found beerbistro, walking distance from hotel. The experience was amazing from customer service to the food. It was kind of late and full kitchen was closed but still were able to order a pulled pork burger with homemade fries on the side and a creme brûlée as a dessert, It exceeded my expectations, the flavors were amazing, it was so juice and delicious. And the creme brulee came with a caramelized pineapple that was also amazing. Staff there are so friendly and kind. we loved it and will definitely come back to try their full kitchen menu!!!!!

Great selection of beers. Fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable service. Recommended.
Almost all dishes come with a recommended pairing. This makes going there a breeze. Servers are very knowledgeable on what dishes work well with what drinks. This is important as not all beers will be in stock. It also means you're going to be pleasantly surprised when you get something new. I had the Brussels mussels and a St. Paul's Dubbel, but I've been here at least 4 times. Every dish works, but mussels work great for sharing and seeing how much spice you can take. Ask for their hot sauce -- it has a beautiful deep, spicy habanero aftertaste!
And don't be afraid to pair up a dessert with their recommend beers either. They make their own homemade beer ice cream. Quite lovely.
The location is right next to the King subway, so it's great for meeting people coming downtown, or coming from out of town via Union.

I love this place! It’s been a favourite of mine for about 10 years so this review certainly doesn’t reflect just one visit. There is a great selection of beers available which is probably what got me to come in the first time. All the food is great, I’m definitely a fan of the mussels. But, if you order one thing, make it the fries. Omg this is how frites are supposed to be. Cooked in duck fat and served with mayo and smoked ketchup. Pair that with any beer of your choice and you can’t go wrong. Otherwise, the service is always prompt and friendly and the location is great. You definitely can’t go wrong with a visit here.

Always love this place! We had our wedding dinner there with our friends and family and had to return to celebrate our 2 year anniversary last night and it was still fantastic! Flank steak is delicious and tender and of course their fries are amazing! Served with mayonnaise and smoky ketchup on the side. The beer selection is awesome, lots of specialty beers, specifically European beers. Patio is secluded and shaded and quite larger, book a reservation to guarantee a spot. Our server Beth was lovely and helpful, even bringing us a sample of one of the beers on tap! Can’t wait to go back again!

The food and drinks were fantastic. I had the duck confit pasta paired with a pint of Munich Gold, while my wife enjoyed the fish tacos along with a glass of Côtes de Ventoux rosé. Both dishes had beautifully balanced flavor; neither too rich nor overly fatty, as these dishes can sometimes be. The beer was crisp and refreshing, especially after walking around downtown for a few hours on a warm summer day. The rosé a medium bodied wine with vibrant fruit-forward flavors and a dry finish. This dryness provided a lovely contrast to our richer dishes, making for a delightful pairing.

We came in for an early birthday dinner while in the city for the weekend. Amanda E was an absolute joy! From our first greeting at our table, she was warm, friendly, and very welcoming. She had very informed recommendations for our beer pairings with our entrée, as well as, our dessert. All of which were spot on for flavour and suitability, and very appreciated. Our food was excellent, second only to the amazing atmosphere that Amanda set for our visit. She is an absolute asset to Beer Bistro, and everyone should enjoy their job as much as Amanda does!

It had been 4 years since my last visit to this, one of my favorite Toronto restaurants. I wasn’t disappointed. I booked ahead for our large party of 14, following a family event. They booked us in a special room they gave in the back for larger groups. It was perfect. Our server, Amanda, was a gem - perfectly suited to our diverse group - including two small children. She handled the ongoing flow of orders with calm expertise. She gave us superb advice on dishes and beer pairings, and she kept the drinks and food flowing at a steady rate, despite our location, “remote” from their main serving area. The food was fresh, hot, and expertly prepared. And despite our two little ones becoming a bit rambunctious as the evening wore on, she handled it all with a smile and enthusiasm! The restaurant is still spot-on one of my very favorites, but Amanda really put her signature on a memorable evening for our family group. It was *perfect* in every way! 🥰👍

Took some colleagues here for lunch and though we didn't have beer, I plan on returning to enjoy some of their large selection.
The lunch menu is not extensive but there is a good variety. I had mushroom pasta which was fantastic; the mushrooms were ground into almost a paste and served with parmesan cheese and creme fraisch. My one colleague had the mac and cheese which came with a small lettuce salad and the other had a burger. They both enjoyed them.
We sat in the outdoor area which has large umbrellas for shade and the ambiance was nice. The server was friendly and fairly fast.

This restaurant is known for their frites and mussels and I can see why, the best frites and mussels that I’ve had in Toronto. I sat in the chefs table and they give you complementary frites. I also ordered the flight that is a sample of 3 different beers and it was just awesome how they had so much variety. Our waiter was really nice, I asked her for recommendations and she did an awesome job at giving me some recommendations according to what I like. It was also pretty cool seeing what happens at the kitchen and the restaurant was also really beautiful.

Emily, you made out trip to Toronto worth going for. Emily was our waitress and she was just wonderful, what a lovely, lovely person! We were told about the Beer Bistro by a friend and were at the King Edward across the street for the weekend and what a treat it was to go to the Bistro. We had the best breakfast you could ever have anywhere. The food is incredible the restaurant itself is so nice inside, the price is very reasonable for what you get. Everything is made in house, even the ketchup. We will be going back to Toronto just to dine there!

The perfect place to have a good beer in Toronto Downtown paired with some very well made dishes.
The staff is welcoming and can help you choose the correct beer according both to your taste and the remainder of your order.
Speaking of food the Belgian Fries with homemade ketchup and mayonnaise are the must have appetizer.
The Pulled Pork is also great as a main dish.
Beware some of the options are quite spicy, the Chicken Wings easily come to mind, but even being someone that doesn't like spicy food, they are really great.
A great place to stop by.

I love the Beer bistro it's got staying power. It was great taps from around the world and the bartenders are knowledgeable and give good advice to take your traveling on a sea of hops and barley.
The food is thought to be prepared in the bistro-style that augments the delightful libations.
Snug into King & Young when are the TTC line it's a good spot for mine because everyone knows how to get there and it's delightful to have a tight press in the bistro / pub atmosphere.
Go there go there often. recommended.
